käbikojas:
khanty women's songs

Three women. Their mouths open and in the depths of their throats - the faces of people of whom we know nothing. Their mouths also open, revealing the faces of their ancestors. Also their mouths open. Then the singing begins. The singing takes one up on high and into the deepest depths, it tears one apart and puts one back together again. This is a singing full of visions and self-reckonings, of fucking oneself to death and reincarnating into the bosom of one's own offspring.

Eva Koldits, Marika Vaarik and Anne Türnpu. And Hendrik Kaljujärv.
