Marika Vaarik (1962) finished her studies in acting at the Tallinn University in 1991. 1987-1994 she was a founding member and and actress at VAT Teater. 1995-2006 she was an actress Rakvere Theatre where she has starred, notably, as madame de Tourvel in de Laclos's „Liaisions dangereuses“ and Miss Amelia in McCullers's „The Ballad of the Sad Café“. For her work in Rakvere she won the Estonian annual theatre awards Best Actress prize in 1999 and 2000 and the Special Prize of Estonina Theatre Critics Union in 2006.

Since 2009 she is an actress at Theatre NO99, where she has starred, notably, as Madame Ubu, Martha in Albee's „Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?“ and Savisaar in NO46 Savisaar. In 2009 she won the Best Actress prize both at the Estonian Theatre Festival DRAAMA and at the Baltic Theatre Festival. In 2014 she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress prize at the Estonian annual theatre awards. In 2013 she was awarded White Star Order 4th class of the Republic of Estonia.
