Seven samurai

KUROSAWA/SEMPER/OJASOO


"Seven Samurai” was a story about seven men who are ready to protect a small and poor village from bandits. The production was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s legendary film, although the production didn't base on the script nor on the movie itself. The theatre production was shown in the abandoned swimming pools in Kadriorg which will be entirely pulled down after the performances.

The directors were Tiit Ojasoo and Ene-Liis Semper, design is by Ene-Liis Semper. The actors included Tambet Tuisk, Gert Raudsep, Kristjan Sarv, Jaak Prints, Rein Oja, Tarvo Sõmer (Rakvere Theatre), Indrek Ojari (Tallinn City Theatre), Mari Abel (Von Krahl), Hilja Varem.

The premiere was on August 12 2005.

There were two versions of “Seven Samurai” – one for adults, the other for children.
